Update:

I had shared the same post a few days ago. The reason for sharing it again is both because I have released a new version of the game with adjustments that affect its Look n Feel, systems, and gameplay, and because there were inaccuracies with the post sharing permissions on my profile.

-------

Last year, I worked on and released a mobile car parking game that I developed in just one month. However, the game carried too many casual features, such as being played with two hands on a horizontal screen, and frankly, it wasn't very fun to play.

This week, in the extra time I set aside for myself, I thought about how I could simplify this game and what I would need to do to offer a hybrid-casual gaming experience on a vertical screen.

During this process, I completely changed all the control mechanisms to make the game playable with one hand and a single input on a vertical screen. This change required two days of work, affecting every aspect of the game, from the UIs, vehicle control systems, game economy, level difficulties, to the vehicle unlocking systems.

One of the most important aspects of the new controls, I believe, was the tutorial I added to help players better understand the basic mechanics of the game.

At the end of the day, I ended up with a work that I thought was much more enjoyable to play, and I was amazed at how much a game could change in just two days. I wanted to share this with you.

Do you think that redesigning a game to the extent of changing its genre like this could cause it to lose its originality, or on the contrary, help it shine even more?
